Dear Ali, relatively high gel content could affect on structure inhomogeneity in the final latex composition and, as a result, change mechanical characteristics of material. If final materials is not to be planned to use in any precise fields it is not a problem. Otherwise, you have to use another latex or separate gel part.
How control gel content? First of all an extraction by appropriate nonpolar solvent (penthane, or propane/butane at higher pressure) can help you. Secondly, membrane separation technology (transfer the latex through the membrane with appropriate pore size), but I do not really sure do it works good or not? And the last approach - use the latex with lower gel content or without gel ... or use another type of latex. Additionally, if you use natural latex you could not decrease gel content by any chemical way, only increase one.
