Gaussian, rectangular, sine step, exponential, etc.. These functions are types of excitation signals available for CST Microwave Studio.
What I want to learn is this: Most of the time antenna is designed, modeled and simulated without changing the default Gaussian signal. By changing them, what difference does it make in terms of results in an antenna simulation?
Does it cause a change in radiation diagrams or S parameters, or if it does not cause any change, what are the different types of signals needed and used for? Is it preferred for areas other than antenna simulations?
Thanks in advance.
