renewable energy is nornally intermittent， so if a large portion of renewable power integrated into local power grid, the electricity quality of local grid will decrese. So renewable energy is often backed by hydropower station or natural gas power station, to smooth the intermittency of the renewable power.

Sure the utilizing from RE resources has positive impact to support the national grid , in current situation it is very difficult to use the RE resources to cover the base load of the grid because the problem of instability of these resources , but it can be consider it good solution for reduction the energy demand in Summer and Winter peak time especially for countries which they suffering from shortage of supplying electricity as well as to mitigate the negative impact of of using the fossil fuel in large scale for electricity generation

The Effects/impacts are

1.Increasing the distributed generation effects the

behaviors of the grid in the fault cases

2.Integration of the wind farms into the grid has

contributed to the increase in the voltage profile of

the system.

3.The less difference between generation and demand

in the power systems is the less variation of voltage

in the busbars.

4. fault – ride through capability distributed

generation and the difference between the base case with and

without DGs when a transient fault is occurred on power system should be analysed

Conference Paper Effects of renewable energy sources on the power system

I recently did a work on integrating renewable energy sources into the OPF analysis of the Nigerian grid and these are my findings:

(1) the system loss is reduced

(2) reduction in the cost of fuel for thermal stations.

(3) reduction in bus marginal cost.

(4) improve system's voltage profile.

In addition, it also help load peaking.
