What is the impact of RC filter in DVR. When connected in primary of VSI and secondary across VSI ?

Suppose we have used an R-C filter at the primary of the transformer (inverter side) in DVR. What are the advantages when the R-C filter is used on the primary side? What is the impact when used at the secondary side (grid side) and how does the design differ in that case?
