Australia has been hosting lots of refugees around the world and becoming a new destination for students. I want to know whether the country is benefited with these migrants or got in troubles? What if there is no migrants and refugees in Australia? How Australia is leveraging migration?

I am not certain, if Australia has been hosting many refugees. According my perception Australia has a Government, which distinquishes much between 'good migrants' and 'bad migrants'. The 'bad migrants' are more likely refugees and then have been put to processing centeres in PNG (Manus Island) and Nauru. Many were detained for many months - years and allegations of human right abuses have been a lot. Although the Manus Island procerssing center has been closed down a few months ago there are still a lot of issues that are worth criticizing at Australia's immigration practice.

Thank you Eberhard Weber for your suggestions. I consider it is a very good piece of paper to know more about how Australia is dealing with the migrants.
I am still trying to explore whether migrants (refugees and others!) have positive impact or not. In Tasmania, I have seen many refugees are working in agriculture and livestock farms as farm labor. I am thinking about 'what if these migrants were not there?'.
