I want to understand to what extent the entrepreneurial education is helping/motivating the young generation to start an enterprise and I also want to know what is the right stage to introduce this education?
The right stage to introduce entrepreneurship in education is from Class II onwards they because it is the stage of transmission from secondary to higher level education. There is a positive impact of entrepreneurship education on young generation in the sense that the youngsters are motivated to become entrepreneurs in their career path so that the economic development arises.
“The current economic crisis is a structural one. Emerging industries require that young people possess new knowledge and entrepreneurial skills. Furthermore, tax and regulatory systems often inhibit business formation by young people. Systemic change is needed to help the new generation of young entrepreneurs to succeed in the innovative economy of the 21st century.”
“At a time when society’s biggest issue is youth unemployment, businesses and governments must work together to help young people develop an entrepreneurial mindset. That means fostering a culture which supports young people to take risks, set up businesses, create jobs and become masters of their own destiny. Whether it’s through finance, mentoring, incentives or training, we must all play our part so that this generation can achieve its full potential. The time to act is now.”
“The answer lies in identifying the best-fit people to start and grow businesses. It is the job creation of those enterprises that is really going to make an impact on unemployment. Governments, businesses and civil society need to work together to understand more about the policies and types of support that best enable the start-up and growth of youth-led enterprises.”
I think the impacts can be positive effects and counter-effects on entrepreneurial behavior and intention. The article of the following reference summarizes both streams of results and offers other references. Kind regards, Edmilson.

Thank u Gopinath. R. for your answer and the source of information. really is a great help. as you mentioned, business houses and government should work together to solve this problem for which I think we should come up with new model which gives right direction and solution to solve this problem. I totally agree that entrepreneurial education has a positive impact but as per my perception the impact is not enough because only few universities have taken this as very seriously but some not. we should make sure that I mean the government and academicians should come up with new ways of teaching this subject so that it can impart the real tactics and strategies to manage an enterprise.
Thank u Edmilson Lima for your answer and source of information. I totally agree with your statement that the entrepreneurial education has a positive impact. But I want to understand to what extant. According to me the impact is not sufficient to solve the unemployment problem among the youth of developing country like India. Therefore I want to work towards this particular issue. If you have any idea how exactly i can start my work in this direction. Regards Dr. K.Sailatha
Yes, I agree with you. The impact isn't sufficient for this purpose. Your research interest is also interesting for the Brazilian context. If I have any idea that could help you, I will share it with you as soon as possible. Kind regards, Edmilson
Dear Kamasetty and Edmilson--Being involved in entrepreneurship education for academicians we do believe that entrepreneurial education sparks entrepreneurial intention and moves. However, empirical evidence from cases suggests that we should be careful not to over-estimate the impact. Here in Germany, the social security system is very strong and although people get trained they often do not target entrepreneurial endeavors in the face of risks that might get out of control. Moreover, it all depends on the entrepreneurial culture in regions and nations. If entrepreneurship education is backed up by other factors the impact will be much higher. Interesting topic! Best, Jörg
Tony Buzan : " We're the owner of the world's most powerful computer. Since birth,we've 100 billion brain cells/active neuron. And each neuron is many times powerful and sophisticated than most of the computers around the planet to day." ( Hardware). Along with this hardware, the God also has provide us with sophisticated Software, among others : Risk Taking and Creativity . The resultant of these two parameter on X - Y diagram, at the max value is Entrepreneur .This is our nature. Unfortunately, the first 6 years of our lives, our parent and people around us, introduced many virus to our software ,change us to become a reproducer or dreamer or challenger or planner or in between. Therefore ,I think it's important to introduce Entrepreneurship as early as possible. Robert Kiyosaki,in Rich dad, poor dad ,said at 9 years old.
As everybody knows entrepreneurship is art and skill base career, if parents are considered as first mentors, they should be traditional type of entrepreneurs, if not may be your view point should be checked. for example if my family back ground is business, my parents will mentor me or if I am educated in commerce/ management/entrepreneurship then I can mentor my kids other wise ???? Decades back entrepreneurs are born but not made but new definition any innovative person can become entrepreneur on the other hand he/she needs skill to market his/her innovative idea for which entrepreneurial education is must, when it comes as education definitely it is an academic issue and as we are academicians need to find ways how effectively we can teach this stream.
Hats off Damsiruddin Siregar for your wonderful explanation and suggestions. if it is possible for you can you suggest how exactly we can frame a curricula for this particular subject. because framing and teaching this curricula is not an easy job as other subjects and as Gopinath. R. suggested to have an effective impact of this education, government, business, society and academicians should work together.
This is a question that may not have a concrete answer. There may be several factors to consider. Such factors may include culture, environment (economic, political, legal and technological), philosophy of education and others. Besides, the issue of impact is something the can only be measured in the long run. The time frame within which the impact can be seen cannot easily be defined and may vary from one country to another.. This may require a tracer study over a long period of time. in any case entrepreneurial education is a new comer in most of the developing countries and we cannot scientifically measure the impact.
The second part of the question is not really an issue. Entrepreneurial education is like any other formal or informal education. which can begin at home and later formally in the school. What we should understand is that entrepreneurial education is not limited to starting an enterprise but it is a way of life. Most youth are very enterprising in their own way but sometime we discourage them because of our own beliefs.
A key issue is to explain what you are referring to by entrepreneurial education and what you hope to achieve from it. Are you referring to start ups or are you referring to the development of new products and services in existing companies or both. There is commentary about whether entrepreneurial education has been taught well at universities or whether it is more a family issue. If you are referring to the development of technological products, a university component may be useful. In this form of entrepreneurial education, engagement with industry is important. Incorporation of technical, business and experience-based learning in industry are important for that type of entrepreneurial education geared towards the development of high-value, technological innovations in either new or existing companies.
I would like to engage Carlo Merino a little further on family ecosystems. What is it and how can it be measured in relation to entrepreneurship culture?
Promoting entrepreneurship and innovative capacity is excellent for the professional development of young people. Although these young people do not become entrepreneurs in the future, attitudes to the transition from school to work are encouraged.
In primary education can a) foster personal qualities (creativity, initiative, autonomy) useful in any professional activity and b) provide early knowledge of the business local community.
In secondary education, entrepreneurship education can include the awareness of students about self-employment as a career choice, learning through practice and specific training related to starting a business.
In higher education, entrepreneurship education can provide young people, specific training on how to start and run a business, including the ability to develop a real business plan, and skills related to the methods to identify and evaluate business opportunities. You can also encourage and support business ideas emerging from students and teachers (university spin-offs).
