as per my knowledge Tuta absoluta generally feed upon all solanaceous crops like tomato, brinjal, potato,European black nightshade (Solanum nigrum), silverleaf nightshade(Solanum elaeagnifolium), American black nightshade(Solanum americanum) and Datura which is considered as weed.
The main host plant of T. absoluta is the tomato, Lycopersicum esculentum. But this pest can also attack the potato Solanum tuberosum, the eggplant Solanum melongena and several weeds of the same family as the black nightshade Solanum nigrum and the succion Datura stramonium
My studies have shown that the spectrum of host plants of Tuta absoluta is broad and varied. It is represented by other plants belonging to other botanical families other than solanae namely: Brassicaceae, Asteraceae and Amaranthaceae
Although the bibliography limited the host plants of Tuta absoluta to solanaceae, the inventory and analysis of the different cultivated and spontaneous plants around heated greenhouses and in the neighboring oasis, showed that the spectrum of host plants of Tuta absoluta is wider and more varied. It is represented by other plants belonging to other botanical families other than the solaneas namely: Brassicaceae, Asteraceae and Amaranthaceae
