Actually by time, some of the research results are become out dated. What is the future of such publications dealing with them. Also some of the publications are only available as hard copy. What is the future of them. Of course these are all related to journal publication management. I am curious to know about it.
Certainly some journal articles stand the test of time and others have a limited "shelf life." This does not mean that the latter are not valuable. Understanding of a discipline continually evolves and every publication contributes, at least a little.
I think that the future of scholarly journals is inclusion in research databases and article-by-article payment for full text versions.
