Of course its true that few days can make a huge difference, but sequencing project time frame depends on many criteria and one of them is what sequencing platform you are using. The time for sequencing on illumina or pacbio will much much different than that of a nanopore sequencing.

Furthermore, the data generation is not the only thing to consider, data analysis in my opinion is also equally important.
