Devising a metric for effectiveness of renewable energy in construction is an interesting exercise; I have never heard of it being attempted. I suggest you make some standard like a long lived tree, evaluate how much energy it has absorbed and has converted to biomass, compared with the energy incident upon it and not so converted, or something like that. Then you can compare conventional constructional techniques with the tree and see how they stack up.
