My ITO/Insulator/Ag Film is showing the switching behaviour . what should i conclude from seeing it as the lower (-ve voltage ) part is showing sharp change . while upper ( positive is showing a hysteresis loop ) . Can some one help me in analysing it ? Is the upper part showing analogus switching behaviour while lower part is showing binary ??
The I-V curves of your system shows bipolar RS behavior which is binary type. You can see the SET (for +ve bias)/RESET (for -ve bias) transitions more clearly if you plot those in semi-log scale. For analog/multi-level switching you must observe increasing/decreasing current levels before the current reaches to the compliance (CC) value. In your case, the ON/OFF resistance ratio (or, the loop opening) is a little fluctuating but that is not a sign of analog RS.

Rupam Mandal can u show me an example of analog switching . I mean how is analog switching diffrent from binary . All i know is that when there is a sharp decrease from low to high or high to low it is termed as binary switching and when it is a hystersis kind of loop it is analog . I am adding an another graph . Is it analog ?
Yogesh Singh your both the cases are analog. I believe if you decrease the size of the contact area and as well the thickness of the insulator layer you might achieve binary RS.
This will also depend upon the insulator material and the mechanism for the formation of the conduction bridge.
As well, the rate of change in applied voltage will also change these results.
Dear Yogesh, your present I-V plots shows some possible analog behavior (because of absence of any sharp transition) but the analog states (multi-states) will be prominent if you plot the current values against time. Also, you need to properly mention the direction of the loops in I-V curves.

According to nature, RRAM devices can also be divided into two types, digital (binary) and analog.
In digital or Binary RRAM devices, Filamentary type switching mechanisms are observed and show an abrupt change from HRS to LRS or vice versa.
While,
The homogenous type of switching occurs, and gradual changes exhibit in analog RRAM devices.

Analog resistive switching = gradual set and gradual reset
Digital resistive switching = abrupt set and abrupt reset
Partly analog or digital = gradual set and abrupt reset (or) abrupt set and gradual reset.
