I would like to write a short paper since the amount of work for the proposed paper is not sufficient, but the results are very interesting. I found a short communication paper from Food Microbiology published in 2013, but now that journal does not include this type of paper any more (but research note has listed online).
I would like to know what is the difference between research note and short communication? How can I find the journal list that would accept short communication?
1. Short Communication: a brief version of an original paper, in which the methods, findings, etc. don't rationalize a full length paper. Although, they still cover original findings, but are generally much more straightforward.
2. Research notes: are not in fact full academic papers yet are discussion notes, looking for advancing a novel idea, theoretical perspective, research program, or methodological approach in organization studies.
3. Majority of the journals publish Short Communications. Just browse through any journal you are interested in and 80% of the time you won't be disappointed.
