I mean that do composite semiconductors always have better photocatalytic efficiency? Does heterojunction always improve our Photocatalytic properties?
Yes, the photocatalyst that prepared as composite is best than pure photocatalyst because it gives a low activation energy and using less dose.....please, load a following manuscript.
The main difference in photocatalyst mechanism between pure semiconductor and composite one is nothing but ,
in pure semiconductor the electron hole pair are contribute in redox process while it is irradiated by light. but we cant sure that all the pairs are contribute in redox process. however some of the semiconductor shows the better efficiency due to some defect created in it. that defects produces the intermediate state above the fermi level in that a way the electron hole recombination was effectively reduced which helps to improve the catalytic activity.
in case of composite the both the catalyst used to transfer the electron hole pair in order to reduce the recombination rate. this improve the catalytic activity.
in comparison composite is more efficient than the pure semiconductor because the composite effectively reduces the charge carriers recombination.
however the suitable bandgap material choose for composite is most important one otherwise the composite does not show any improvement compared to pure materilals.
