Basically, traditional agroforestry is a more general term, that involves the use of exotics, aboriginal introductions, naturalized and/or native species, in SAF that have been experimented and proven to be successful in a local indigenous context. This may or may not include medicinal plants, understory herbs, epiphites, ferns, and other woody vegetation. Ethnoagroforestry according to Moreno-Calles et al (2017), is a research approach that provides a theoretical framework integrating socio-ecological disciplines and TEK.
Traditional agroforestry is the growing and managing the traditional seasonal crops / pasture grasses with locally available woody perennials. These traditional agroforestry practices varies from area to area depending upon the agro-climatic conditions and composition of woody perennials and seasonal crops.
Briefly, traditional agroforestry systems are agricultural systems developed by traditional peoples or communities. I believe that the term "Ethnoagroforestry" represents a branch of the ethnosciences that is responsible for the study of traditional agroforestry systems.
