When atmosphere is considered, we speak about turbulence and stability to define the dilution of pollutants. So far my understanding in turbulence is non continuous stable movement and that is being characterised as stability class. Is that correct?

Turbulence is opposite of laminar flow in fluid flowing patterns and refers to a disturbed flow with some sort of agitation. Stability is a balanced case of opposite forces acting upon a system under consideration.
