What is the difference between stationary wavelet transform using Haar/Daubechies wavelet and Stationary wavelet transform that does not use them?

I wanted to know if stationary wavelet transform using Haar/Daubechies wavelets help provide better similarity indices for features extracted when compared to Stationary wavelet transform that does not use them.
