Self-concept refers to an individual's overall perception and evaluation of themselves, including beliefs about their abilities, characteristics, and identity. On the other hand, self-efficacy specifically relates to one's belief in their ability to successfully accomplish a particular task or achieve a specific goal. Self-concept is more encompassing, involving a broader sense of self, while self-efficacy is more focused on confidence in specific abilities or tasks.
@Mohammed -thanks for your question here. Self-concept is the sense of being distinct and separate from others and the awareness of the self whereas self-efficacy describes the belief that one is capable of executing behaviour or performing tasks successfully and is an essential driving force of human nature. The effects of self-efficacy beliefs on cognitive processes take a variety of forms such as human behaviour, being purposive that are regulated by forethought encompassing the valued goals. That is my interpretation. Rgds Gautam Mukhopadhyay.
