What is the difference between exact outage probability and and approximate outage probability?

Can anyone shed light on the major difference between Exact and Approximate outage probability in a relay-assisted communication network over Rayleigh Fading Channel. I am trying to model an Exact outage probability of this network focusing on the instantaneous SNR received at the destination but my model seems to be a little bit complex.

1. What are the factors to be considered if I am to reduce the complexity of my model?

2. How to result to approximate model?
