Though both the terms indicate process of transformation of solid phase to liquid phase, I guess, the word 'melt' is more suitable. Then, on which occasions and for which kind of situations is using 'defrost' most appropriate? I think, 'defrost' is mostly associated with ice/water/moisture, whereas 'melt' is more general, which can be applicable for any kind of material, not just only for ice. Am I correct?
