I think, but not sure, crystallization produce crystals of specific shape and size but precipitation produces amorphous solids...

Simple suggestion to student is, the molecular composition of the solution which can grown up in a regular / irregular arrangements of atoms/molecule in the uniform lattice is called as crystallization. It could be synthesized by direct heat, wet chemical, hydrothermal, and solgel method etc. whereas in precipitation is which by addition of solvents/ precursor to forms insoluble crystal as decant from the solution. It does not have any crystal properties.

According to me... Crystallization involves the arrangement of atoms in well ordered 3 dimensional repeating pattern....means there is a proper lattice ...while in precipitation...a bulk or group of atoms that are randomly arrange in ill-order

Kindly verify, the crystalline material also amorphous, and random arrangements of atoms in which well defined perfect crystal lattice (crystal structure). The major anomaly is enthalpy of heat content variation defins both crystals and pricipitation formation. The precipitation is does not have any crystal structure. No Dear Khan, just little correcting, As you said arrangements of atom in 3 dimension fashion of crystal lattice and form a bulk group in precipitate absolutely correct, but i feel little more that we can give exact definition for precipitate and crystallization for student concern. It is critical to explain for precipitation even in crystallization process co precipitation is one of the method involve. I feel personally enthalpy can only give a boundary definition to crystals and precipitates.

These two terms differ due to their end products. In crystallization, crystals are produced and in precipitation amorphous solids are produced.

• Crystals have an ordered structure than amorphous solids; therefore, it is harder to produce crystals. Thus, crystallization is harder than precipitation.

• Crystallization process takes more time than the precipitation process.

Well Mr. Thomas you wrote number of equations, what this to say about precipitation why it is to be form the precipitate. Equation is nothing to telling about precipitation formation. Very basic example add HCl + NaOH --- > NaCl (salt) + H2O form what would be say for this chemical reaction why it is formation of salt here. Some organic reaction addition of solvent to form precipitate is form what would be say for this. Ex azo dyes formation.
