I would like to know the difference between biocides that used for cooling water system and washing water system in terms of types, functions and mechanisms, especially with Sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB).
Can you explain that you understand by "washing water systems"? Is this for food, food processing equipment etc.

I just would like to know the difference between biocide types as I use these chemicals for water treatment system in oilfield.
Cooling towers are closed systems and the quality of the water is usually high so you only need to prevent Bacteria from growing. In this case a bio-state can do best to protect ( CMIT/MIT for example).
For Wash Water you need to to reduce the bacteria count as the quality of the water is relatively lower , here you will need to use fast killers like THPS , Glutral , formaldehyde or benzalkonium chloride
