In most cases you can either use auxiliary or parametric sweep to sweep the study over a certain parameter. I would like to know how these two differ and when one is more suitable than the other, and also about the performance (which is faster) when you can use both.

The auxiliary sweep is suitable to use if you are not having any geometry change, parametric sweep is suitable it you are to change a thickness, length, diameter etc.

I think when we are using auxilary or parametric sweep the term speed no where related. And accuracy is depend on your parameter or geometry like whether it is decreasing or increasing (dependent parameter) with ur parameter changes.
Parametric sweep is used to perform a sweep on (change) geometric properties such as thickness, length etc. For example, if you want to monitor stress on a film as thickness increases, instead of changing the thickness every time for each simulation, use a parametric sweep i.e range(1,0.1,10). This will vary the thickness at steps of 0.1 from 1 to 10. The auxiliary sweep however is used when material property comes into question. It can be used to vary material property such as density, thermal conductivity, or any other material coefficient. In addition, this feature can help you determine a material property based on experiment results. Good luck.
