Sometimes, we a present a flow diagram to present the research methodology. This diagram gives the details of how the research go ahead from the literature review to data collection to modeling and analysis. While some editors and reviewers acknowledge this diagram as a research methodology and appreciate such a diagram, some editors and reviewers, especially from qualitative research background, term such a figure as the project methodology.

My query is what are the features that distinguishes a project methodology from a research methodology.
