I am trying to derive a cost model for the spray drying process. I need the process flow, relative cost of equipment, process for zircon, magnesium oxide, alumina powder mixture to sprayy dry powder to make knee implants. Difficult to understand ho to effectively measure the costs. I am on a tight schedule to calculate this so your help would be appreciated.

various industrial spray drying equipment are normally compared by two features:
Here, a simple rule applies: the larger the spray dryer, the lower the processing costs per 1 kg.
However, these costs are not as important for high tech ceramics. For expensive items often be used a smaller spray dryer with a water evaporating only of few 10 kg per hour. It is only important that the spray dryer is so great that the particles do not stick to walls. This is known as a minimum theoretical size of the spray dryer. All laboratory equipment (for example, by NIRO) are smaller than this size and can not be used for industrial production.
