Most water samples from borehole in coastal towns and villages in Niger Delta contain very high iron content. Some cases one gets the water from lower aquifer of 180-230 meters deep. Government has not been able to provide potable water for the citizens from these zones. Individuals sink borehole to upper aquifer that could only extract water at the depth of 30-40 meters. But iron content at the upper aquifer is outrageous (5 mg/l-12 mg/l). Cheap and easy method of treatment becomes imminent so that it can be affordable.
