What is the best way to write articles in active or passive voice?
Many editorials have guidelines to avoid stiles where redaction is personal. Recently I was in Springer Conference and they approve it. What would be the best choice to publish in a Journal with high impact, active or passive voice?

Alain - that would depend on a number of factors - but you raise a good point and it is important to consider author orientation in sentence structure. The main types of author orientation are ‘strong’, ‘weak’ and ‘no’ orientation. If you take my discipline, then conceptual and/or empirical papers are more likely to be written in the passive voice - but that doesn't have to be the case throughout. Discussion sections, for instance, may facilitate personal reflection. Qualitative reporting may, to a certain degree, be more encouraging of the active voice. A weaker factor may be your personal preference for writing in the first-person (personalised), third-person (distant) or passive-voice (assumed) perspective. The bottom-line, however, is that (regardless of Impact Factor) that you adhere to the author instructions and general house-style. If they recommend a particular approach - then you have to stick to that.
