I have done LPS assays many times using kits from the Associate of Cape Cod. However, the data is very inconsistent, between experiments (same experiments) and with in group of the same experiment. I am afraid that contaminated LPS got into the serum/plasma. Does anyone have experience with this?
My suggestion for endotoxin assay is LAL test. There are many cartridges (with ion exchange chromatography principle) are available for removal of LPS. Check millipore for Durapore cartridges.
Thank you Muthusamy. But The issue is not removing endotoxin. I need to measure endotoxin in the blood from the animals. However, there could be some contaminated endotoxin during the blood collecting process. How do I avoid contamination during blood collection. We collect blood through tail bleeding. Thank you.
