I have a water soluble dye that i would like to put into a polymer bead with out any surface modifications. what polymer should i use for this and what would be the best way to get the dyes in?
Most polymer used as host material for laser dyes is methyl methacrylate (MMA), where the laser dye soluble in alcohol solution such as (ethanol or methanol ), and co-polymerization with (MMA)
I would encourage you to first check the net surface charge of your dye....and then select a polymer with opposite charge. This will help to establish a electrostatic interactionforce to keep dye inside your polymeric bead thus formed.
