The temperature, thermal gradients and stress fields in the beam dump of the SARAF phase II Beam Dump (go to google) should withdraw power of 200 kW created by 40 MeV protons /deuterons with current of 5 mA. The idea is to constract a liqued metal target to avoid radiation demege and good heat tranfer to keep the target at low temperature. The liquid suggested is gallinstan.
