I am trying compare two groups of sheep who are resistant and non resistant to an ectoparasite. I want to know which test is the best to compare different cell population of this groups after and before exposed to the parasite.
I am a first year PhD student therefore your advice and opinion is highly appreciated.

First check data normality, then you can choose, data transformation,and/or use a non-parametric or parametric test (t test, as example).

Considering that the factors (age, race, sex, body weight, among others) are controlled, that is, that they are the same, that their experimental groups are uniform for the mentioned factors, as well as the intra and inter group experimentation conditions , then you can begin to assess the experimental design, once you have located the experimental design that suits your experimental conditions, then, and only then can you think about the means comparison test to use, which will be based on the number of treatments you have, and in the case of Tukey or Newman Keuls, the level of accuracy you want.
