Hello everyone. I am going to do research related to estimating AGB and characteristics of trees such as height and canopy cover area by utilizing 3D point cloud of RGB UAV. However, I am not sure what software is better to analyze the aforementioned attributes. I would be appreciated to have your opinion about this issue.

Based on my recent work, I can recommend you to check the open source application called 3D Forest. This application is capable of generating various tree structure parameters such as tree height, Diameter at breast height (DBH), crown projection area, individual tree segmentation, volume, and many more. Works both with LiDAR and UAV-derived point clouds. You can download it here:

When there is only a camera but no lidar, this option is suitable (for a high resolution of 1.5 cm):
