I use NVivo. There are lots of tutorials for NVivo on YouTube so you will be able to see what it looks like and what you can do with it before deciding whether to use it.
I did a webinar on choosing the appropriate qualitative software program you can access from my YouTube channel bit.ly/CNPwebinar014
There is also a webinar in the same series by Vicky Rampin on free tools for qualitative data analysis here bit.ly/CNPwebinar016
The CAQDAS Networking Project also has reviews of many of the options - all freely available here https://www.surrey.ac.uk/computer-assisted-qualitative-data-analysis/resources/choosing-appropriate-caqdas-package
DiscoverText.com is 100% free for all academic users. There are also free trainings six days a week. On the website you can see a list of more than 300 academic citations of DiscoverText used in published scholarship.
I am a registered user (student version) for both Atlas.ti 9 & MAXQDA 2022, and both are about the same in conducting QUAL research. The only advantage of using the MAXQDA 2022 version is the capability of conducting a MM mode, importing data even from SPSS to do some form of analysis (code variable stats) and recent addon a useful QTT (Question-themes-theory) section in helping to conduct (Literature review)LR, RQs and ROs.
Both software provides intensive online free workshops and recorded ones via Youtube.
I use MS Excel because it is free/standard in the office. I do not have access to NVivo so I use Excel for coding and counting. I use Pivot Table to check frequency, clean data, compare groups etc. I hope the reference will be useful :)

Sonia Cheung I also use spreadsheets for many of the mixed methods parts of my work, but when it comes to doing Twitter analysis, I rely on the Twitter display for an authentic annotation/coding experience.

Question: When is a Tweet not a Tweet? Answer: When it appears in a spreadsheet, or is deleted, or the account has been suspended.
