Hi! Our lab currently do obtain plant extracts (via methanol separation, rotavap) and store solvent-suspended crude extracts in 4C; however, research suggest that bioactivity of the plant compounds from this procedure if stored long is lost.

Found some biorepositories do flash freezing then grinding of fresh plant samples in Liquid Nitrogen which preserve plant compound bioactivity.

Kindly share your procedures after Liquid Nitrogen grinding (i.e. if storing dried powdered plant crude extracts in -80C is enough, which vials are appropriate > Plastic tends to show in mass spec data). A paper showed that freeze drying affect plant enzymes). Also, how to store oily plant extracts.

Please share references when possible. Thanks!
