What is the best outlier analysis to clean data for psychological study?

We have just finished data collection on an exploratory correlational study in which we used an online survey. However, we failed to include an attention check in the survey and now we need a method to clean the data. What is the best outlier analysis to use for this situation? We are considering Multivariate Mahalanobis Distance analysis. What do you think?
