What is the best method to digest amphipods without Nitric acid?

Hi.

I am currently trying to digest amphipods Gammarus spp for microplastic analysis. I have tried 30 % H2O2, Potassium hydroxide and Fenton's reactant.

I would like to stay away from the Nitric acid due to its detrimental effects to common plastics.

Could you suggest any alternatives?
