First, search for recipes for your specific surface. Research the literature. Otherwise, when a specific recipe does not exist, a few common ones are in practice. Trichloro(...) silanes (where ... is an alkane) are common for wet chemistry or vapor deposition, especially on glass or mica or silicon oxide. A one-pot commercial silane called SigmaCote provides an almost fail-proof method, albeit with limited information about the fundamental surface chemistry that arises. Finally, Gelest and other companies have handbooks and Websites with information that might help you.
Removing a silane can require some degree of etching of the surface with wet chemistry. It can also be done with ozone or plasma cleaners.
post-silanization heat treatment of a silane agent and rinsing with hot water of silanized CAD/CAM feldspathic ceramic surfaces on the microtensile bond strength between resin cement and the ceramic, before and after mechanical cycling.

just bought the APTMS and MPTMS silane bottles .. found out it doesn't have a crown cap. i think these silanes are very sensitive to moisture.. Can i open the bottle and store it in a desiccator at room temperature. are they stable..?
i want to use them to prepare monolayer of silane on the glass surface..
