Some of the most important stages of infectious pathogens and parasites are enclosed by highly resistant structures. These are frequently very difficult to study ultrastructurally because of difficulty in adequate infiltration. I have worked for many years with helminth egg ultrastructure with mixed results. Any advice from other researchers will be appreciated.

IMHO it will depend what your target is. There are a lot of specific preparation procedures out, especially also for excellent fixation -follwoed by successful embedding, polymerization of resin and good quality of sections for EM-localization. If you could specify your task or your problem a little bit more in detail [e.g. what you have done until now e.g. when processing helminth eggs] this would be of help, anyway.

Wolfgang Muss has quite right, you must know that there are entire books about parasitology as the Langeron etc.. methods vary from parasite to parasite.
Bacteria, spores, spirochetes to rickettesia, fungi etc.. may at times be or become parasites, this also applies to helminti.
For these last bright preparations stable and are obtained with the method of Wipf (Vetterling and Thompson). This method should overcome the barriers given by epithelia cuticles and hard and impenetrable.
You'd better specificassi the precise target on which to operate.
