Im planing to study the pharmacokinetics and bioavailability of drug, but need to know which is the best technique to collect blood for this kind of works.

best route is retroorbital plexus but very cruial to animal as repeated pricks makes animal harms....prefer tail vein to remove blood but it is tedious and but good also as anasthesia can be possible along some local anasthetic drug
Hi, tail vein sampling under anesthesia might be considered but you should check the effect of anesthetic drug on your results.

Zahra Sepehri madam you are right...its basic to check effect of anesthetic drug along also
the best technique to collect blood from rats is orbital sinus . Slight thumb pressure is enough to puncture the tissue and enter the sinus.
