I am starting a project to review the Integrated Production Modeling approach in one area of our field. I think is the best way to evaluate the effect of flowing pressure (or back pressure) on the rate and hence improve accuracy of Type Curves. It is also a good way to evaluate the production network under actual operational constraints. Is there anyone doing something similar?
If you try to understand a new non-conventional reservoir I suggest to use an experimental design on the key parameter of the reservoir in order to determine the answers and model it and at the same time to quantify the uncertainty that I have on the key reservoir parameter.
Those key parameter could be pressure, static parameter and you can include the field development plan variation in order to see how the production behavior change.
You need to start formulating the problem, sets of constraints and then decide wwhatis the objective function ? Is it maximization or minimization problem .
then you will be able to program it.
and locate the unknown paramters.
in my thought, this is the scientfic approach.
You have to choose the Method of Oil Recovery, you tend to apply: SAGD, CSS, Steam Flood. SAGD is the best.
