In a single quadrupole LCMS with an ESI probe what is the benefit of using the adduct ion setting in SIM or SCAN mode? (Running pure samples)
When in SIM mode, the mass spectrum automatically gives the adduct ions assigned in the adduct ion setting. When those same adduct ions are removed they no longer appear in the mass spectrum. I don't believe I'm understanding the purpose of this setting. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
