using the following formula Sc=(Cc/1+Eo)*(H)*log(dP+Po/dP) for calculating the consolidation settlement i got an difference of approx. 20% is that within average or their are more accurate formula.
Note: i know this formula depend upon the no. of layers i used in my calculation and as the no. of layers increases the accuracy increases
hi you aware that soil is a natural material so uncertainty very common for soil. the percentage error by keeping all limitations of soil, usually accepted upto the maximum variation of 10%. also, you know that the settlement as calculated based on empirical relationship is mainly depends on material parameters,, also, the field consolidation is 3-d in nature..so needs to consider 3-dimensional effect in the analysis for getting accurate results..ok all the best..
