Hello,

Before this, i had culture edwardsiella tarda on xld agar and they grow as pink colony with black at the center. But after long time, I reculture back from the stock, but the bacterial did not grow as pink colony with black at the center but only pink colony. As I know the appearance of the black colour at the center of the colony is cause by the production of hydrogen sulfide.

Is it possible that the ability of the bacteria to produce the hydrogen sulfide become weaker after long time storage?
