I am trying to submit a revised manuscript to a Journal of Aquaculture, it require me to submit a statement of relevance, what is it? Can anyone can give me an example?
I did a google search and the following things come up. My take is to state the knowledge that the audience will gain from your paper. Whether the paper is filling in a gap in the literature is a good way to start.

I believe that they mean a statement is why ytour study is relevant and significant. Why does it address an important question and in what way does it make a contribution to the field?
In the outline I use (see the attached link), this should be at the end of the introduction, after the research questions. It should address the significance of the TOPIC, not if the FINDINGS.
