The term "scope" in the context of eLearning refers to the extent and limitations of what a certain eLearning project or course will cover. It lays forth the guidelines and goals for the eLearning effort. In order to make sure that the course is focused, realistic, and in line with the anticipated learning results, scope is a crucial component of eLearning creation. e-learning is continuously evolving and therefore, has a broad area of study. e-learning is not restricted to education but demands industry involvement, collaboration among organizations and innovation in its design, development and implementation. In fact, the e-learning industry is contributing to the economy of the State. Therefore, the scope of research is quite vivid and ubiquitous for e-learning. It is up to the investigator, researcher, academicians and stakeholders to determine which dimensions they find intriguing enough to convert and conceptualise as a searchable problem.
Some areas could be:
Instructional Designs
Online courses
Synchronous and Asynchronous Mode
Multimedia
Digital/ E-content
Implementation of MOOCs
Sophisticated form of MOOCs
e-Assessment
Curation of digital content
Challenges in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of e-learning
The e learning definition according to experts in education and educational technology is “the delivery of training and education via networked interactivity and a range of other knowledge collection and distribution technologies” (Fry, 2000).
