Its hard to search for this because often in title or abstract of paper they dont put hydrothermal alteration even if they map it, or a lot of work is geochemical but does not show a distribution in space, so the geothermal fields and mines seem to be the best sources, although these are in unique environments themselves

I am trying to get data from Japan on thermal springs and faults and repeat that too, but with 27000 springs
paper by Fairley and Hinds, I dont see the point of doing kriging interpolation on a linear pattern of springs, its basically visualization and too much paper is about interpolation (geostatistics) which everyone knows except here its far easier to just plot as symbols by size or color without any kriging, it doesnt bring anything new and just fills the paper with some content not related to geology, its far better to plot distribution of points along a line as 2D graph or section
