As the determination of gain of controller is depends upon the system and for every system the range of gains are different.
For the armature controlled DC motor what is the range of gains ?During the time of determination, the gains value are coming large (Near to 10,12,16 etc.) . Is the high range of gains are acceptable and could be realized in the real time ?

In general for this application the range of K for PID controller are in the plague Kp=5, Ki=(0.5 - 1.5), Kd =1.

Gain of controller is depends upon the system for which we are going design controller and every system will different hence their range of gains are different.
Increasing Kp will reduce the steady state error. After certain limit increasing Kp only causes overshoot. Increasing Kp reduces the rise time.
Integral control eliminates the steady state error. After certain limit, increasing Ki will only increase overshoot. Increasing Ki reduces the rise time a little.
Increasing Kd decreases the overshoot. Increasing Kd reduces the settling time.
If your PID gains are “too big”, the non-linear parts (which were neglected when linearized) of the real system will become more pronounced. This means your system may become unstable in the worst case scenario, or your controller will perform poorly in the best case scenario. Therefore, you don’t want your gains to be too big, even if the simulation shows no problem.

As you stated the problem associated with the high gains. Can you pls. let me know that here " High " means upto what range one can chose the gains.
