what are the differences between global and private cloud computing , can we consider cloud computing is just a bunch of servers and apps located somewhere.
Agreed on Nane's operational definitions of cloud deployment models from NIST. Private cloud normally refers to cloud hosted in the owner DC premises. But just want to share in the marketplace some cloud consumers & providers use the following variation of private cloud definition:
1) Managed Private Cloud - Private cloud infrastructure hosted in the owner DC premises but outsourced the cloud managed services to external IT outsourcing service providers in which the providers deliver the cloud managed services either on-site or remotely from the owner DC premises
2) Virtual Private Clod - Private cloud owns by the owner / customer but the private cloud infrastructure is hosted / co-located at an external cloud service provider premise. Normally the owner will provide its own IT staff to remotely manage their cloud infrastructure located at provider's premise.
3) Virtual Managed Private Cloud - Some cloud service providers develop, sell and manage the "virtual managed private cloud' on behalf of the customer whereby the customer only purely playing the role as consumer.
The idea of cloud computing came as necessity to deal with big data, in cloud computing i think we must take in consideration privacy and security issues
