Your study, to me, sounds as if it would suit a philosophy/framework centered on a pragmatic/transformative paradigm. If, as your detail hints, that the qualitative component will be the main leading component then I would suggest QUAL + quan – an inductive-simultaneous design - where the core component is qualitative and the supplemental component is quantitative.

The trend over the past decade and more in mixed methods has been to place more importance on research design rather than philosophy. This goes along with an emphasis on the research goals, as the drivers of your design.

So, can you tell us more about what goals are, and what your data sources are likely to be?

No problem Nimish. My father was from Leeds - and I remember him taking me to Elland Road for the first time when I was 8 years old. I have been a lifelong supporter since then. Last season was so close but I hope that they avoid the play-offs and get automatic qualification this year!!

1-Research philosophy is an important part of the research methodology. Research philosophy is classified as ontology, epistemology and axiology.

2- Research design is defined as a framework of methods and techniques chosen by a researcher to combine various components of research. The sketch of how research should be conducted can be prepared using research design. Hence, the market research study will be carried out on the basis of research design.

An impactful research design usually creates minimum bias in data and increases trust in the collected and analyzed research information. Research design which produces the least margin of error in experimental research can be touted as the best.

The claim that "research philosophy is an important part of the research methodology" is an idea that emerged in the 1980s, along with the interpretation of this philosophy as consisting of concepts such as ontology, epistemology and axiology. Prior to the work of Lincoln and Guba (most notably in their 1985 book, Naturalistic inquiry), no one paid much attention to these issues, but were still able to produce quite successful research with both qualitative and quantitative methods, as well as in the emerging field of mixed methods.

Since the early 2000s, there has been less and less emphasis on Lincoln and Guba's version of the research philosophy, especially in mixed methods. One major influence has been the rise of pragmatism as an alternative that does not depend on ontology and epistemology. In my opinion, however, the biggest reason for the decline in interest in ontology and epistemology is the realization that they made little difference in the actual conduct of research, and that the real issue was the linkage of research goals with research methods.

Do not forget the female sports. The gender equality lacks in music, art and the like. Also female foot ball and ice-hockey are taken less seriously than when a male is running after a foot-ball or a black small round thing on the ice. At least in our country. Also in science the women were supposed to sit at home when the man puts forward his PhD thesis. The protocol is solely elaborated for men. Think about this philosophy that 50% of the global population is discarded from many activities due to male dominans or fear of women being as good as they are.
