Answer to this question lies in the sintesis of work in the matter of reflexive modernity and multiply modernity. There is one basic premise of modern society and that is reflexive behaviour of the individual toward a structures of society which he is the part of (see Giddens, 1991). The other part of the answer is the one following the work of Shmuel N. Eisenstadt (2017). Modernity is not a solid phenomena, it is a variable that depens on the context of the reflexivity in one society. There is a missleading thinking about equation of modernity and westernization. Modern society depens on the microcontextual answer of the specific community to the the globally produced values.
My conception of an ideal society is the one whereby the rules of the constitution are supported by the majority of the people with honest politicians who are elected democratically and with a judiciary system that treats all people equally. Alas, ideality and reality are two different things.
An 'ideal' society is one in which there are no class antagonisms; one in which the material needs of all are fulfilled and one in which we all have the right to autonomy (freedom from domination). To be a society in which this two basic premises are fulfilled, it means a society/social collective that can engage in forms of intellectual and aesthetic exploration which are current impossible within capitalism. In short, this society would be self-realized--rather than alienated.
Modern ideal societies show a cultural, liberal growth as well. These societies put an increasing emphasis on equality and education for everyone as seen in the wide-reaching civil rights movements. Economic opportunity allows people to create wealth for themselves and society, while quality of life allows people to enjoy their wealth. . The characteristics of successful ancient societies/civilizations are: Mutual respect, Tolerance of harmless differences, Intolerance of harmful elements, Punctuality Kindness towards all, Honesty, Cleanliness. Code of Honor, Family integrity, Obedience towards authority.
