here are some information about this topic in cell culture. As Joel already mentioned, the doubling time for CHO cells is around 22 hours (20-24 hours). As the name says, this is the time, in which the cells undergo one duplication. The passage number contains the information how many steps of subculturing the cells have undergone. From the passage number you can conclude how long these cells are in culture, if you do the subculturing in the same time interval.
